Literature Text

Something small, seemingly insignificant
But it impacts me in waves of  emotion
What is thoughtless, dreadfully ambulant
Assaults me and my mind becomes an ocean

A kiss, lips pressed against mine the same
Wistful traces of lipstick upon my temple
Blissful, undemanding… consuming, inane
Turning covered sentiment in a plot so simple

I'm dreamy, floating on clouds of cotton
Lace wrapped around my limbs and trailing
Over fingers, seized in someone's, sought them
And I had thought then, my grip upon a bearing,

Thought it could not become much better
To sail above the bird's eye of an awning
With the weightless wings of a feather
Yet as the sun rose, our epilog was dawning

Daybreak, breaking surfaces, wave wakes
Eyes meeting, your lips still  upon my hand
A shiny reflection, perfection in quiet intakes
Laces lapped loose 'round feet upon the sand

"This is the perfect ending," says your stare
Parted lips, tongue emitting a lilting diction
"No. This is the foundation of a page lying bare
Outside of The End another waits to be written ,"
Took a line from an older poem and started this one with it.
... I just wanted to see how it would unfold. ><
I'm no good at love poems, but this one isn't so bad. If not a little cliche.

Hey is this from when I asked you to write a poem about the impact of a kiss? xD Sounds just like how I asked.
